Dutch Colonial Homes

Happy Summer friends!   After a trip to the  beach  I kept thinking about the beautiful architecture of some of the big  homes and many appear to be of Dutch colonial architecture. The style  has always been a favorite.   It brings me back to the past and reminds of  when life was simple and uncomplicated.

Dutch Colonial is a style of domestic architecture, primarily characterized by gambrel roofs having curved eaves along the length of the house. Modern versions built in the early 20th century are more accurately referred to as "Dutch Colonial Revival," a subtype of the Colonial Revival style.
