The art of glass blowing has always fascinated me. The incredible artistry of Dale Chihuly is display all over the world, his glass designed piece is recently shown at Harrods in London . His exhibition Beyond the Object opened at the Halcyon Gallery on February 8 and on February 11 his latest work, a huge chandelier entitled "Amber and Gold", is unveiled in the grand hall entrance of Harrods department store.

Although Seattle-based Chihuly has a close affinity with London and has regularly created pieces here including the 30ft chandelier that hangs in the lobby of the V&A museum and the glass flame that stood in Park Lane during the Olympic year.
The capital is also home to one of his favourite buildings, Crystal Palace. "I've been interested in glasshouses as far back as I can remember," he says. "One of the lectures I used to give was on greenhouses. These beautiful Victorian buildings, the first of which were in England, all the glass was hand-blown. I'd love to build a glasshouse in London."
Until then, we'll have to make do with admiring his latest 1,500 piece glass chandelier at Harrods. See video below
